Cecelia Packing is adding mandarins to the mix, and will have two varieties available for shipping in the 2010 season. Planting is happening now on two very special newly released University varieties.

The ‘Gold Nugget’ Hybrid seedless mandarin combines good fruit size with rich sweet flavor. The slightly bumpy rind is bright orange and easy to peel with a deep orange flesh color. They offer excellent productivity and outstanding storage characteristics. The fruit is slightly flattened in shape with little to no neck and averages medium to large in size.

The second mandarin variety set to debut in 2010 is the ‘Tango’ variety. This irradiated variety is patent pending with excellent production and quality. The fruit is medium sized with no neck and has a relatively thin easy to peel skin. Of worthy note, this fruit has a fine flesh texture and very juicy with over 50% juice on average weight.
